This is a collection of patches to modify various arcade games to improve visibility. For most games, that means increasing the basic bullet sprite size while retaining the original style. For the Strikers 1945 games, it meant outlining the player ship sprites to increase contrast with the backgrounds. Also included are a few hacks for console games with the same goal.

Auto Patching Instructions:

The auto patching script was written for Linux. If you are using Windows, it might work through cygwin, but you are probably best off patching manually.
Place all romset archives you wish to patch into the 'fbneo' or 'mame' directories, depending on which platform you are using. This should be the same directory as a patchit.sh file. Supported formats are zip and 7z, do not extract the archive.
Execute the patchit.sh file.
All source romsets should be patched automatically, see terminal output for info.

Manual Patching Instructions:

Extract the source romset to an empty directory.
Navigate to the patch directory that shares the same name as your romset.
Apply the included .ips patches to the rom files you extracted which share the same name.
Add all the rom files to a new archive, making sure it has the same name as before. Also make sure that when opening the archive, all rom files are in the archive root, not in a sub-directory.

Games list:

Darwin 4078
Terra Cresta
Tiger Heli
Slap Fight
Flying Shark
Twin Cobra
Twin Hawk
OutZone
Strikers 1945
Strikers 1945 II

The romsets used to make these patches were for FBNeo 1.0.0.3 and Mame 2003. I believe that these patches should work for any current romset versions and future versions, as the graphics roms do not usually get updated. If you find the name for the roms in your romset do not match the names of these patches, try manually patching the closest matches.
